For the Second Time In Four Months, Ottawa Senator Veteran Claude Giroux Has His Car Stolen

Most of us go our whole lives without having our car stolen. Claude Giroux and his family have now had to deal with it twice in the past four months.

On September 25th, Ryanne Giroux, Claude's wife, took to social media to announce that Claude's car had been stolen and sought suggestions from her followers on what to do next.

After a flurry of response on social media, Claude was appreciative of the public's assistance. And with 737 of them in his career, he knows was a nice assist looks like.

Ryanne made sure to fire out a thank you to her followers.

“Thank you for all your help! Not banking on ever seeing that car again, but stay tuned. Police have been notified."

On Thursday, almost four months to the day after the first heist, Ryanne hit social media again to announce that someone had now ripped off their loaner car.

Because Giroux has earned close to $100 million in his career, after taxes, the story transitions from an otherwise troubling one to a lighter tone of, "Oh, come on, what are the odds?"

Coincidentally, the Girouxs are currently starring in a car commercial that frequently runs during hockey games. The charming TV ad features Ryanne driving the vehicle with one of their young sons in the backseat, napping away in his car seat.

As the camera pans to the other half of the backseat, a tuckered-out Claude is also fast asleep on the way home.

Giroux is in the final year of his contract, and as he and the club begin to make decisions on plans for next season, Sens fans are hoping Ottawa's apparently vibrant car theft rings don't influence anything.
