Gamecocks’ seed, first game set for SEC baseball tournament. Here’s the full schedule

.After finishing the regular season on Saturday with a loss to No. 1 Tennessee, South Carolina dropped to the No. 10 seed in next week’s SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.

The Gamecocks will play against 7-seed Alabama at 2 p.m. ET Tuesday in the single-elimination round of the tournament.

If South Carolina falters against the Tide (33-21, 13-17 SEC), the Gamecocks will have to wait almost a week to see if they’ve done enough to make the NCAA Tournament — or, at best, how far they’ve fallen and where they’ll get sent for a regional.

South Carolina closed the regular season losing its last six games, being swept by Georgia and Tennessee. It’s the first time USC has closed a season on a six-game skid since 1996, when it lost seven in a row and coach June Raines was fired — only to be replaced by Ray Tanner.

This season, the Gamecocks faced Alabama for one series in Tuscaloosa. They lost the first two contests by eight combined runs but closed out a 9-8 Sunday victory to avoid the sweep.

Here’s the full schedule for the SEC Tournament:
