Seattle Kraken Reassign Ales Stezka To Coachella Valley

The Seattle Kraken have reassigned goaltender Ales Stezka to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the team announced Wednesday.

Stezka, a product of Plzen, Czechia, is in his second season with the Firebirds where he has posted a 2-5-0 record to go along with a 3.37 GAA and a .894 SV% in seven appearances.

Having joined the Kraken organization in May of 2023, Stezka posted solid numbers for Coachella Valley last season, going 18-6-2 while posting a 2.48 GAA and a .914 SV% in 27 appearances.

Prior to coming to North America to begin his professional career (he had prior experience playing in the USHL), Stezka played parts of four seasons in Czechia's top pro league, posting a record of 49-42-0 to go along with a 2.45 GAA and a .913 SV%.

Although Stezka didn't get into a game with the Kraken, his recalls this season have proven that the Kraken view him as someone who can fill in if needed. While he hasn't gotten off to as good of a start this year, Stezka proved he could be a reliable netminder for the Firebirds last year and handle a big workload for the team.
