Seahawks giving Pete Carroll a contract extension
The Seattle Seahawks are giving coach Pete Carroll a contract extension and will announce the deal at a press conference Friday morning, according to the Seattle Times.
Carroll was heading into teh final year of his original five-year, $35 million contract.
The Seahawks won a Super Bowl for the first time last season, routing the Denver Broncos.
The former USC coach is 38-26 in four NFL seasons, going 5-2 in the postseason.
Carroll, 62, went 13-3 last season, capping the Seahawks' triumphant run with a 43-8 win over the Broncos.
