SDE Adds Canadian Goalie Ahead of Playoffs
SDE has added University of Toronto alumna Erica Fryer. Fryer will join Lovisa Berndtsson to form SDE's goaltending duo for the remainder of the season and playoffs.
The team's starter, former Ohio State and Clarkson University standout Kassidy Sauvé, has not dressed since December 29 for undisclosed reasons.
24-year-old Fryer brings a wealth of experience, following five stellar seasons in USports, where she posted a career 1.33GAA and .934 save percentage with a 62-20-1 record in 86 starts. The native of Amhurstberg, Ontario is raring to go.
"I have always dreamt of playing professional hockey," she said in an interview posted on the team's website. "I'm so excited to get started."
Fryer will join the team next week.
