Scottie Scheffler Reveals the Ravioli-Related Origin of His Shock Hand Injury
The World No. 1 golfer is hoping to return to the green after undergoing surgery on his hand
Ravioli, apparently, is to blame for World No. 1 ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler's hand injury.
Scheffler, 28, spoke to reporters over Zoom during the Arnold Palmer Invitational media day on Monday, Jan. 20, where he revealed the rather wholesome way he hurt his hand.
According to Golfweek and NBC Sports, Scheffler — who welcomed son Bennett with his wife Meredith last May — said he broke a glass while making ravioli with his family on Christmas Day and hurt his hand.
The injury left the world's top-ranked golfer in need of surgery and forced him to skip the Sentry and the American Express tournaments earlier this month.
Scheffler told the media "everything went will with the surgery" and his "body feels pretty good" ahead of the next tee-off.
"Still making decisions on schedule going forward," he explained, "but we should know in the next few days to a week whether I'll be playing next week" in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which kicks off Jan. 30 at Pebble Beach in California.

“But overall recovery is going well, everything is on schedule so we’ll see, but feeling good,” Scheffler added.
He didn't share any additional details on his return to the gym or his conditioning, but the golfer's chiropractor shared video of him working out on Jan. 19. Gabby Herzig of the Athletic re-uploaded the video of Scheffler's workout and noted, "Looks like he’s wearing some sort of cover/brace."
I *think* this is the first sighting of Scottie Scheffler since he cut his hand on Christmas Day and had to get surgery. Looks like he’s wearing some sort of cover/brace

He added that he took "a couple weeks off" after surgery "to make sure everything is healing properly and made sure we're in a good spot," per Golfweek.
Scheffler made headlines last May when he was arrested as he was attempting to bypass a traffic stop and enter the Valhalla Golf Club before the second round of the PGA Championship.
