After scoring TD, Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy handed the ball to his mom in the stands
It wasn’t mother’s day on Monday, but one mom’s day was made thanks to her son.
Chiefs rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter against the Saints, and he didn’t spike the ball. He didn’t keep it either. Instead, Worthy sought out his mother, Nicky Jones in the stands.
Worthy found her and handed the ball and they hugged. It was a special moment between a mother and son, but there was a little more to it.
ESPN noted that Monday was Jones’ birthday. What a sweet present this must’ve been for dear ol’ mom.
Here is the touchdown and the football being gifted to Nicky.

Worthy’s mom was by his side when the Chiefs traded up and selected him in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
