Schira: Milan will have ‘important’ future resale clause in Maldini deal

Daniel Maldini is expected to leave AC Milan on a permanent basis this summer and according to a report, the Rossoneri will have an important percentage on a future move.

Maldini joined Empoli last summer and after a failed first six months at the club, the loan was terminated and he signed for Monza instead. It turned out to be a fantastic decision, bagging four goals and one assist for the red and white side.

Seeing as the attacking midfielder’s contract will expire in 2025, Milan are looking to monetise his departure this summer and Monza are very keen. According to Nico Schira, only the ‘last details’ remain in the negotiations.

The 22-year-old is set to sign a four-year contract with Monza and in addition to the transfer fee, Milan will have an ‘important’ future resale clause. It remains to be seen how important, but anything over 30% would be really good business for the Rossoneri.

A permanent exit makes the most sense for all parties involved, as Milan wouldn’t be able to guarantee any playing time. And after finally finding some consistency, one can understand why Maldini would like to extend his stay in Monza.
