Manchester City have received a potentially significant boost to their transfer window activity with the culmination of interest from Saudi Arabia in Ederson.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been consistently linked with an exit from the Etihad Stadium for a number of months, increasing in intensity towards the end of last season following an injury sustained against Tottenham.

The 30-year-old succumbed to a number of accidental injury problems throughout the last campaign, allowing an increased amount of opportunities to be handed to back-up choice Stefan Ortega Moreno.

Manchester City’s German shot-stopper was largely faultless when called upon in big matches, and with Ederson reportedly being open to the idea of a fresh challenge in the Middle-East, there was a belief that Ortega could soon become the club’s number one.

However, despite a string of reports indicating a greater chance of Ederson becoming the Saudi Pro League’s next big-money signing, and an agreement on personal terms claimed to have been struck, a new significant development has granted Manchester City a huge boost.

That is according to the exclusive information of City Report, who claim that Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr have officially ended their interest in recruiting Manchester City’s number one choice goalkeeper Ederson this summer.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
