Santos enquire about Chelsea teenager

Santos are among the clubs interested in signing Chelsea's Deivid Washington on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old striker has not played in the first team since April when Mauricio Pochettino was the manager and has been seeking opportunities to further his career.

Washington joined Chelsea in a £17.2m deal from Santos in August 2023 but has struggled to make the grade for the first team, mostly lining up for the under-21s.

A return to Santos, who are believed to want to re-sign Neymar in the coming months, would appeal to Washington.

However, the Blues have just two international loan spots available, with Fifa setting a strict limit of six overseas loans per club, and it will likely lead to caution over progressing any deal.

Chelsea are also looking to offload the likes of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka in January.

Meanwhile, there is loan interest in Renato Veiga from both Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.
