Sané praised for crucial substitute appearance against Benfica: "We know his talent"
Leroy Sané provided a spark off the bench when he came on for Michael Olise in Bayern Munich's 1-0 Champions League win over Benfica on Wednesday.
The Germany winger was a handful for the Benfica defence and initiated the move that led to Bayern's winner.
After the game, Sané earned plenty of praise from Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, who was pleased with the winger's impact.
"We know his talent. Today he showed us once again how good he is," said Kompany at his post-match press conference.
“Leroy turned the game around.”
Sané will be hoping to be in the starting eleven when Bayern visit St. Pauli in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
So far, he has started just one game in all competitions this season.
