Sam Brown becomes second Hurricanes receiver to declare for NFL Draft ahead of Pop-Tarts Bowl
Another Miami Hurricanes wide receiver has declared for the NFL Draft ahead of the team’s Pop-Tarts Bowl game against Iowa State.
Sam Brown, a redshirt junior who played one season at Miami after starting his college career with stops at West Virginia and Houston, made the announcement Saturday afternoon that he is foregoing his final season of eligibility to head to the league.
“Through this entire experience, I want the city of Savannah, Georgia, to know I just wanted to be the role model I didn’t have growing up and show the future of Savannah that dreams can and do come to reality,” Brown wrote. “With that being said, I will be taking another step to achieve my dreams. I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Brown finishes his lone season at Miami with 36 catches for 509 yards and two touchdowns. Over his five-year college career, he caught 149 passes for 1,903 yards and nine touchdowns.
He joins Xavier Restrepo as UM players to announce their intentions to go to the NFL Draft on Saturday.
