Saints' Drew Brees throws 500th TD, becomes third QB to beat all 32 NFL teams

They didn’t stop the game this time, well not for the achievement, but Drew Brees hit another milestone on Sunday. And then he hit another once the game was over.

First, Brees threw a second-quarter touchdown pass to Benjamin Watson against the Ravens for the 500th of his career. Then, thanks to a shocking missed extra point from Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, the Saints topped the Ravens 24-23 and gave Brees a win over all 32 NFL teams in his career.

What kind of history Drew Brees made

Brees is the fourth player in league history to notch 500 touchdown passes, and the second to hit that mark this season. Peyton Manning finished his career with 539, Brett Favre had 508, and Tom Brady is up to 504 after his three-touchdown day against the Bears earlier Sunday.

Brady got his 500th two weeks ago, against the Colts.

As for beating all 32 teams, Brees joined Manning and Favre in an even more exclusive club of three quarterbacks.

Brady, Kerry Collins, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and John Elway all lag behind with victories over 31 NFL teams. However, that entire group save for Collins played or have played their entire careers with only one team, making the all-32 club impossible.

Brees piling up milestones this season

Throwing for 500 touchdowns was the third milestone for Brees this season: he famously became the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards on “Monday Night Football” a couple of weeks ago, and in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, he set a new league mark for completions.
