Promoted to Ligue 1 after having beaten FC Metz in the playoffs, AS Saint-Etienne have focused their sights on Zuriko Davitashvili (23) to improve their offensive unit ahead of next season.

After having managed to get back to Ligue 1 after two seasons in Ligue 2, Saint-Etienne are ready for a busy summer to have the best team possible to comply with their objective of staying up. With the-long awaited club’s takeover now being official, Les Verts can be more flexible on the transfer market but have a clear long-term project. While the negotiations to retain prolific striker Irvin Cardona have cooled down because of the €5M price tag set by Augsburg, Saint-Etienne could splash a similar amount for one of Ligue 2’s sensations.

According to a report by Foot Mercato, Saint-Etienne have made a second offer for Davitashvili, weeks after having opened talks with Bordeaux. The Georgian international wants to join Les Verts and is already in negotiations with the club over his personal terms. Bordeaux have placed a €6M valuation on the winger, who is under contract until 2027. With his Euros involvement having come to an end with Georgia’s elimination in the round of 16 against Spain, the negotiations could speed up in the next few weeks.
