Sahin delivers positive injury update ahead of Dortmund's game against Freiburg
After a difficult spell with a number of players on the sidelines, things are looking up for Borussia Dortmund.
BVB coach Nuri Sahin confirmed on Thursday that he'll have a number of players back in the squad for Saturday's match against Freiburg.
"For the first time in a long time, the news is more positive than negative," Sahin told reporters on Thursday.
"Julien [Duranville], 'Gio' [Reyna], Waldemar [Anton] and 'Greg' [Kobel] are back. So is Jamie Gittens," he confirmed.
On the fitness levels of Reyna and Duranville, he added:
“I don't expect ‘Gio’ and Julien to be 100 percent straight away. But the physio department has given the green light and they have done a great job. Whoever is in the squad can play. They're ready.”
Karim Adeyemi, Niklas Süle and Kjell Wätjen are making progress, but it's too early for them to return. Captain Emre Can is also out as he's suspended.
Dortmund go into the game in seventh place, one point behind fifth-placed Freiburg.
