Sadiku 'happy to make Celtic history'

Celtic manager Elena Sadiku says leading her side to their first ever SWPL title was a "fairy tale".

The title race once again went to the final day of the SWPL season and after narrowly missing out the previous year, Celtic managed to go one better.

Sadiku only joined the Glasgow club in January following the departure of Fran Alonso.

Despite missing out on both cups, the Swede managed to grab the one trophy that had evaded Celtic for so long.

"To win the league at Celtic Park was an unbelievable moment," she told the Celtic View.

"I think this was a perfect end to a fairy tale almost. It just feels like it was meant to be.

"But it was just amazing to see all the fans being so excited and happy because they are a big part of the success and winning this trophy.

"To create history in several different ways, it just goes to show that this club is one which wants to write history.

"It’s a massive club with good vision and good people around, which can make that happen. I’m very happy to be a part of Celtic history and to be around that."
