Arsenal Women have continued their January recruitment drive by signing Canadian goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo.

The Gunners, who are currently second in the Women’s Super League (WSL) table and face leaders Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, want to bolster their squad as part of a title push.

Arsenal have also been hit by fitness issues as both Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema have suffered season-ending knee injuries, which has led to Gio Queiroz being recalled from her loan spell at Everton.

Midfielders Kathrine Kuhl and Victoria Pelova have also joined to strengthen Jonas Eidevall’s squad, and now D’Angelo has arrived to become Arsenal’s third signing of the window so far.

The goalkeeper, who has earned 24 senior international caps for Canada, has signed from Swedish side Vittsjo GIK and, along with Kuhl, Pelova and Queiroz, could make her debut against Chelsea.

“It feels amazing – it’s an honour to be here and I’m so excited to get started with the team,” said D’Angelo.
