Thompson fired a 106 MPH shot on a one-timer against the Stars. This shot is now officially the hardest recorded slapshot of the 2024 calendar year.

Before this shot, Thompson already had the record for the hardest shot in 2024. Back on Oct. 26 against the Detroit Red Wings, Thompson reached 104.69 MPH with a shot. However, he ended the year by breaking his own record.

Thompson is known for his excellent shot, and this latest record only proves that further. It's a notable reason why he leads all Sabres players in goals this season with 18 in 33 contests.
