Sabres Coach Gets Real About Brutal Losing Streak

The Buffalo Sabres fell to the Toronto Maple Leafs by a 5-3 final score on Sunday (Dec. 15). With this, they have now lost 10 games in a row. What makes this specific loss even more frustrating for the Sabres is that they had a 3-1 lead over Toronto before allowing four unanswered goals.

Following the game, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff was transparent about his feelings and took responsibility for the club's ongoing losing streak.

"I'm almost lost for words, obviously," Ruff said. "It's on me to solve this. This is the toughtest solve I've been around, but it's on me to get these guys in the right place and win a hockey game, And nobody else, just me."

Following this loss, the Sabres now have an 11-16-4 record and are seventh in the Atlantic Division. This is below expectations, as many believed the Sabres would fight for a playoff spot this season. However, this ongoing losing streak is undoubtedly hurting their chances of breaking their 13-year playoff drought.

Ruff will now look to get the Sabres to turn things back around from here. They will be facing off against the Montreal Canadiens in their next contest. Montreal is the only team below them in the Atlantic Division standings, so the Sabres have a good opportunity in front of them to get a win. Let's see if they can do just that.
