Sabres Camp To Be Abbreviated By Global Series
The Buffalo Sabres opened their 2024-25 training camp at Key Bank Center on Wednesday with GM Kevyn Adams and “new” head coach Lindy Ruff stressing accountability and a win-now mentality, but this camp may be short on battles for roster spots due to their abbreviated calendar of practices and workouts before the club heads to Europe for the 2024 NHL Global Series.

The Sabres are slated to depart for Germany next week, where they will play an exhibition game against EHC Red Bull Munchen on Friday, September 27 and will stay until the start of the regular season in Prague against the New Jersey Devils on October 4th and 5th, which is the reason the club structured their first practice with essentially an NHL group that travel across the pond. "That was obviously a managerial and coaching decision to try to get our group acclimated right away, get the chemistry going." Sabres winger Alex Tuch said. "We got a lot of new guys (and) a new coach. You want to get used to them as quickly as possible, and a quick turnaround to Europe. I think it's is a big reason why we're doing that."
