Neither the driver nor the team have any clue what led to the incident as of reporting.
"I’m okay," Sieg said, "I just inhaled a lot of smoke and just no indication of what happened. All of a sudden, it was just on fire."

Sieg exited the car before it came to a full stop, coughing and waving his hands.
"I saw the replay," Sieg told NASCAR on Fox, "It looked like I was Ricky Bobby on fire with my hands flying all the way around."
This was not the end of the bad luck for Ryan Sieg and his race team. Just 22 laps later, Blaine Perkins, The other RSS car, started to smoke in the same corner to a lesser extent.
Perkins car (also a Sieg team car) is stopped on the track with some smoke coming out. He is out of the car.
