Ryan Reynolds has joked that his new movie Red Notice was delayed because he spent too much time goofing around with co-star Dwayne Johnson on set.

The upcoming Netflix comedy thriller recently had to suspend production due to the coronavirus pandemic, though Reynolds explained in a new interview that they were very close to wrapping-up.

"I'm guessing we might've finished the movie if we didn't spend 90 per cent of the time d**king around, laughing," he told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

"I've known Dwayne for, like, 15 years, so we tend to spend time trying to make each other laugh — which is a really irresponsible thing to do with Netflix, their money. It makes for a good movie in the end when you get take 28!"

While Red Notice is at least almost finished shooting, the same cannot be said of Deadpool 3 — which Reynolds recently admitted he wasn't sure when will happen.

"Oh, man, I really don't know," he said. "It's just all so new with it being over at Marvel now, and, you know, figuring out the ins and outs as much as I can, from where I sit. We'll see."

Meanwhile, Reynolds will soon be seen in new movie Free Guy, which he has described as his "favourite" he's ever done... just don't tell Dwayne Johnson.

"It's my favorite movie I've ever done," he said on Instagram. "Just an absolute fastball of joy. Can't wait to get it out there. On... December 11th?"
