Ryan Lindgren Inching Toward Return to Lineup
Ryan Lindgren is continuing to make progress in his recovery from an upper-body injury.
After practicing in a green non-contact jersey for a few days, Lindgren skated in a regular jersey on Monday.
While Lindgren is still on injured reserve, this is certainly a positive sign that he is inching towards a return sooner rather than later.
Rangers coach Peter Laviolette said that nothing has changed in terms of Lindgren’s status and that it would be beneficial to see him participate in a full practice.
The 26-year-old defenseman suffered this upper-body injury in the preseason after fighting with Scott Mayfield.
Lindgren has been seen with a face shield, indicating that he sustained some sort of facial injury during the fight.
Victor Mancini has been playing in place of Lindgren, so it’s unclear what his status on the team will be once Lindgren ultimately makes a full recovery.
