Ryan Lindgren Expected To Miss ‘At Least A Few Weeks’ With Upper-body Injury

The New York Rangers announced Wednesday that Ryan Lindgren will be out for at least a few weeks with an upper-body injury.

Lindgren left Tuesday night’s preseason game against the Islanders in the first period after fighting with Scott Mayfield.

While it’s not directly clear if he suffered this injury during the fight, it’s safe to assume that he did given the fact that he was not seen after it and he was ruled out shortly after the fight accrued.

The loss of Lindgren is pretty substantial for the Rangers as he was paired up with Adam Fox throughout training camp and was arguably their best defensively minded player, but his absence now opens up an opportunity for more roster competition.

This past season the 26-year-old recorded three goals, 14 assists and 17 points in 76 games while averaging 19:21 minutes.
