Ruthless Linfield beat Mid Ulster in Women's Premiership

Linfield made it three Women' Premiership wins in a row with a rampant display in a 7-1 win against struggling Mid Ulster at Midgley Park.

The Blues were 6-1 ahead at half-time, with a late goal from substitute Bernie Ferreira sealing a fourth successive win in all competitions.

The victory moves Ryan McConville's side level on points with third place Lisburn Rangers, who have a game in hand.

Mid Ulster are rooted to the foot of the table having lost their opening six league games.

Ebony Leckey opened the scoring for the Blues after just two minutes before Eva Myles doubled their advantage five minutes later.

Myles got her second and Linfield's third on 22 minutes, with Leckey scoring again two minutes later.

The in-form Eve Reilly, fresh from scoring a hat-trick against Derry City on Friday night, then added a fifth for the rampant hosts, atoning for an earlier penalty miss.

Jessica Magee pulled a goal back for Mid Ulster just after the half hour mark as Alex Clarke netted a sixth on the stroke of half-time.

It was a much quieter second half, with Linfield forced to wait until the 89th minute for another goal, with Ferreira finding the net soon after coming on.
