Russia's Kostin blasts Canada's Comtois during intermission
At the World Juniors, Team Canada captain Maxime Comtois has made two things very apparent:
If this hockey thing doesn’t work out (unlikely), he should have a pretty decent announcing career to fall back on.
He certainly is not afraid to embellish a little when he is on the ice.
During Canada’s major clash against Team Russia for Group A supremacy on Monday night, the forward hit the deck pretty easily in the game’s first period.
Listen I know I poke fun at Canada a lot but, in all seriousness, I hope Max Comtois is okay after this. You never like to see this kind of gruesome violence out there pic.twitter.com/OLGpH5yZwO

Picking up on his tendency to go down without much pushback was Russian captain Klim Kostin who had a few choice words to share about his play during the first intermission.
Kim Kostin on Comtois during intermission interview on Russian TV: ''In his previous life he worked at circus. Didn't you know that? Perhaps he watched the World Cup of soccer, Neymar is probably his best friend.'' #WJC2019

“In his previous life, he worked at a circus. Didn’t you know that? Perhaps he watched the World Cup of soccer, Neymar is probably his best friend.”
Considering the usual cliche answers players give, Kostin’s remarks easily have to go down as one of the most memorable to ever come from an intermission report.
And to be fair, it is really hard to come to the defence of Comtois given the reputation he has built over the course of this tournament. The 19-year-old has flopped quite a bit.
Let’s not forget it’s pretty much a miracle Comtois was able to dress for this game after getting absolutely ruined by the Czechs pic.twitter.com/t2frFLxmYO

That wasn't a good call on Kurashev with 1:34 left. That wasn't much of a shove on Comtois. #WJC2019 pic.twitter.com/peRVE8UL7E

The book is out on Comtois’ diving, so it will be interesting to see how he – and tournament officials – respond to his bad habit.
