Ruben Amorim identifies two Porto stars as potential Man United reinforcements
New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim would reportedly like to sign two players he came across during his time at Sporting CP.
The Portuguese tactician has only arrived at Carrington a few weeks ago, but the need for a squad shakeup is already quite evident, especially after switching to a 3-4-2-1 formation.
Fans and observers have already highlighted the need for reinforcement on the left flank, especially amidst the seemingly never-ending injury woes of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
Moreover, the team could use a new striker as well, as Joshua Zirkzee might be the best fit for Amorim’s tactical plans, despite breaking his duck by scoring a brace against Everton last weekend.
So according to The Mirror, Amorim has identified two Porto players who can offer quality and depth for these particular roles.

For the striker role, Samu Aghehowa (previously known as Omorodion) has been sensational for the Dragao this season, scoring 13 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions, including a brace against the Red Devils when the two clubs clashed heads in the Europa League earlier this season in breathtaking clash that ended 3-3.
The Spain international was heavily linked with Chelsea in the past. But after spending the last campaign on loan at Alaves, Atletico Madrid sold him to Porto while maintaining a 50% sell-on fee. Moreover, his contract includes a release clause worth €100 million.
As for the left-back role, Amorim is reportedly keen on Francisco Moura. The 25-year-old represented several clubs in previous years, but has been a true revelation since joining Porto last summer. He has contributed with seven assists in 20 outings.
Nevertheless, the source notes that United are unlikely to splash the cash in January, as Amorim is still working on “intel gathering” after taking over from Erik ten Hag in mid-season.
