Royals Pull Off Massive Deal, Acquire Kenta Isogai From The Wild

The Victoria Royals pulled off a massive trade on Wednesday, acquiring Kenta Isogai and a 2027 conditional fourth-round pick from the Wenatchee Wild. In exchange, the Wild received forward Morgan Hackman, defenceman Nick Koering, a 2025 2nd Round Pick, a 2027 3rd Round Pick, and a 2028 5th Round. This is the first trade the Royals have made since early November, when they dealt Deagan McMillan and a 2026 seventh-round pick to Wentachee for Hayden Moore.

Isogai is both an import and an overaged player. The 20-year-old winger has 38 points in 28 games this season and was named to the US First All-Star Team in 2023-24. While he has only been in the WHL for two seasons, Isogai has made his mark, racking up 126 points in 92 regular season games.

As for the return, both Hackman and Koering are 2007-born skaters. Hackman is currently playing for the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL and is committed to Minnesota State University for the 2026-27 season. As for Koering, he is with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL and is committed to Colorado College for the 2026-27 season.
