Royals fan shares look at how stadium in Washington Square Park might be set up

Let’s be clear from the start: this is not an official rendering of a potential Royals stadium at Washington Square Park. I’m not sure those exist at this point.

But since my colleague Sam McDowell broke the news last week that the Royals are looking into the possibility of building a stadium at Washington Square Park, many fans have expressed their approval of the idea.

The stadium would be north of Crown Center and east of Union Station. As Sam noted, Blue Cross Blue Shield soon will be leaving its location north of the proposed site, which will create more space.

One fan shared a photo of what the stadium could look like if the Royals were to build there. Again, this is just a photo from a fan but it looks really cool. The Western Auto Building is an iconic part of Kansas City and having that prominently featured would be great.

Here is the photo from X user Man About Town KC.

X user Washington Quantrill shared an image that shows how the stadium could be fit into the space. Again, this is not an official look from the Royals or an architectural firm. I thought it was interesting.

Josh Chavis, another X user, also gave a look at how the potential Royals stadium could look in that area.
