Rome Odunze roasts Caleb Williams in new Bears 'Hard Knocks' clip

It didn't take long for Chicago Bears rookies Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze to build chemistry. In fact, they were already building a rapport before the Bears managed to land Odunze at ninth overall in the 2024 NFL draft. The pair trained together, along with Bears receivers DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, before they officially became teammates.

The Williams-Odunze dynamic that will be a staple for the Bears franchise for the foreseeable future, and it's nice to catch a glimpse at their growing friendship and rapport.

HBO and NFL Films released a new clip from "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Chicago Bears," which gave us a glimpse into their relationship. Odunze, along with Williams' USC teammate and undrafted rookie John Jackson III, are spotted watching Williams throwing and delivering some friendly roasts along the way.

As expected, the first episode of "Hard Knocks" featured a heavy focus on Williams as he looks to rewrite the failed quarterback history in Chicago. While there will no doubt be bumps along the way, the Bears have done everything they can to set him up for success during his rookie season. Whether it's surrounding him with an arsenal of weapons including Moore, Allen and Odunze or giving him a potential top-10 defense, Williams is arguably in the best position for a No. 1 pick quarterback ever.

"Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Chicago Bears" airs every Tuesday, through Sept. 3, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and streaming on Max.
