Roma have laid eyes on Georges Mikautadze amid their search for new weapons but Olympique Lyonnais, despite their financial crunch, have set a very robust price tag for him, €30M. He has registered 8 goals and assisted once in 27 matches across all competitions so far this season.

Per Sky (via Fantacalcio), the Giallorossi are looking around as they are likely to sell Eldor Shomurodov. He’s wanted by a few minnows, primarily Empoli and Venezia.

Roma have already been linked to Mikautadze in the past while the future of Paulo Dybala was uncertain. He did leave Metz last summer but stayed in France, transferring to Olympique Lyonnais for €18.5M.

The striker previously starred also for Ajax, where he didn’t pan out, and Seraing in Belgium. He had his most prolific campaign with Les Grenats in Ligue 2 in 2022/2023, scoring 23 times and dishing 8 helpers. The 24-year-old has 35 caps and 16 goals with Georgia to his name. He was a standout performer in the most recent edition of the European Championship.

Our Take on Roma and Mikautadze

His agent must have a connection with Italy since he is attached to a Serie A side in basically every window. Unless they need room with the lists, they could just keep Shomurodov, who’s decent as a spark plug off the bench. It doesn’t hurt to have depth. He has slightly unusual traits and would easily be able to lead the frontline, but they should be seeking somebody more similar to Artem Dovbyk if they want a deputy for him first and foremost.
