One day on from the sacking of Ivan Juric at Roma, and not a single Giallorossi player has publicly acknowledged or responded to the tactician’s dismissal, which paints a worrying picture of the relationships in the dressing room prior to the Croatian’s departure.

Juric was officially given his marching orders on Sunday, almost immediately after his side lost 3-2 at home to Bologna. The team had only won one of their previous six Serie A outings.

From the beginning of his reign, Juric faced a difficult challenge taking over from De Rossi both on and off the training pitch. Roma started the season underwhelmingly in terms of results, but the players reportedly enjoyed a particularly close relationship with De Rossi.

When De Rossi was let go, many of the team’s most prominent players publicly wished the Giallorossi legend well. Paulo Dybala added that ‘sometimes football is unfair,’ while Stephan El Shaarawy and Bryan Cristante also expressed their sympathies.

Less than two months later, however, the same courtesy was not afforded to Juric, as none of the first-team squad have wished him well, or sent any messages at all after his sacking.

Lates on Roma’s hunt for a new coach

Roma continue their hunt for a new coach. Roberto Mancini and Massimiliano Allegri have been described as the ‘dream’ options, while other candidates including Rudi Garcia, Paulo Sousa and Graham Potter have also been linked.

Edin Terzic was also mentioned as a possible option for the Giallorossi, but his appointment has been ruled ‘unlikely’ by outlets in Germany, while Frank Lampard also remains a longshot.
