Roma want to make the best of the opportunity and try to sign Artem Dovbyk from Girona within the next few days.

The Giallorossi are in serious pursuit of the 27-year-old striker who now represents the capital club’s top target for the summer.

Dovbyk is now the favorite to become Roma’s new number 9 following Romelu Lukaku’s exit.

According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo, Roma and Girona are planning to accelerate talks in the coming hours.

Atletico Madrid’s failure to complete an agreement with the player’s entourage has caused Roma to attempt a last minute hijacking of the deal.

Moretto claims Roma are going all-in on Dovbyk, trying to convince him at all costs to join them, with Daniele De Rossi repeatedly talking with the player on the phone.

Roma are now preparing a formal bid that is going to be close to what Girona are requesting.

According to Moretto, Roma’s bid will be based on a fixed fee of 30-32 million euros plus bonuses that would boost the total offer up to 40 million euros.
