Roma to discuss possibility of executive role for Claudio Ranieri in addition to head coach position
Roma are meeting with Claudio Ranieri in London with the intention of making him their head coach for the third time.
Ranieri’s most recent stint with the Giallorossi came under similar circumstances in 2019 when the veteran technician replaced Eusebio Di Francesco for the remainder of the season.
Now, Ranieri will have the tall task of picking up the pieces in the aftermath of Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric’s dismissal.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranieri is in London to meet with the Friedkins and put pen to paper on his contract as Roma’s head coach.
However, talks could also involve an agreement over the possibility of an executive role for Ranieri at the end of his coaching spell, also considering his experience, depth and quality in managing human relationships inside the locker room.
The newspaper cites the position of ‘technical director’ as a concrete possibility for Ranieri.
