Roma appear to be interested in two Fiorentina players who are being linked with an exit from the Viola club in January.

The exclusion of Cristiano Biraghi “for technical reasons” from the squad for the Conference League match against LASK seems to be the final spark of a frayed relationship with Fiorentina.

Fiorentina boss Raffaele Palladino said in a press conference: “It’s a technical choice. Cristiano wasn’t used to not playing consistently, in the past few years he was the captain and always an important player for the club. What he did in this period was important, when he took to the field he was good. But now he’s finding little space, also due to a calf problem, but it’s a technical choice that must be respected. I won’t add anything else.”

A decision that brought an immediate reaction from the player’s agent, Mario Giuffredi.

The agent, the same as Fabiano Parisi, another left-back who is finding little space in Viola, said: “I’ll answer Palladino at the end of the transfer window, I don’t feel like talking about it too much today.”

“But in January both Biraghi and Parisi will leave, both of them. Then I’ll answer Palladino in due time, so we’ll see how many balls he has. Both players will leave. I don’t know yet if it’s permanent, but their chapter in Florence is over.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are one of the teams that, together with Napoli, have approached Giuffredi to inquire about Parisi and Biraghi’s availability.

The Giallorossi are currently looking for additional depth on the flanks and both players could come in handy to Claudio Ranieri.
