With his contract set to expire next summer, Jonathan David (24) will be allowed to leave Lille OSC this summer. The Canadian striker has a lot of suitors queuing up, and his future could be decided after his return from holidays following his Copa America’s involvement.

One of Ligue 1’s most reliable strikers over the course of the past four seasons since his arrival from Belgian’s outfit KAA Gent, David is likely to leave France for pastures new this summer. With only one year remaining on his current deal, the Canadian international is gathering interest around Europe, and will not be retained by Lille. While Chelsea have recently made contact with David’s representatives, other Premier League clubs have shown an interest in the 24-year-old striker, who logged 26 goals in 47 games across all competitions last season, such as Manchester United and West Ham, who have both enquired about the feasibility of a transfer. However, they may face fierce competition from Spain and Italy.

According to a report from L’Équipe, AS Roma and Atletico Madrid have joined the race to sign the gifted centre forward. Following Alvaro Morata’s transfer to AC Milan, The Colchoneros are looking for a suitable replacement up front, and have added David’s name to their shortlist. Neither Roma nor Milan have submitted an offer yet, and they will face fierce competition not only from Premier League, but also from Saudi Arabia, who could be able to send a better proposal to Lille. However, the French outlet reports that David wants to make the best choice for his career, hence threatening a move to the Gulf.
