Roberto Mancini open to joining Roma, prefers to wait until January
Roma are considering various names as potential replacements of Ivan Juric.
Following the team’s defeat to Hellas Verona, discussions are ongoing with regards to the Croatian manager’s future.
The current coach led the training session at Trigoria today but his future seems anything but stable and guaranteed, so much so that in the Capital several names of candidates are being put forward to take his place.
Among these, one of the most fascinating leads back to the figure of Roberto Mancini, who a few weeks ago resolved his constraint as coach of Saudi Arabia.
It would certainly be a convtroversial choice given Mancini’s strong links with Lazio.
As a player, Mancini won one of the two historic Scudetti won with the Biancocelesti in their history and also as a coach his journey began at Formello, initially as assistant coach and then, after his debut experience as head coach at Fiorentina as an interlude, also as coach and nothing more.
It is not even the first time that Mancini has been linked to the possibility of coaching Roma. In 2009, to succeed Spalletti, the senators (above all De Rossi and Totti, who has said it several times) of the Giallorossi locker room had indicated him as the ideal figure, but in the end the club opted for Claudio Ranieri.
In recent days, moreover, Mancini had his picture taken right here in Italy, in Rome.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, however, there is a but: Mancini is open to joining Roma but would prefer to return to work in Italy only starting from January, for fiscal reasons related to the taxation on those who have left Italy and return.
