Riley Stillman Clears Waivers, Assigned to AHL

The Carolina Hurricanes have assigned defenseman Riley Stillman to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL after the blueliner cleared waivers earlier today.

Stillman, 26, has been on the non-roster injured reserve list since the start of the season as he has been dealing with a lower-body concern since training camp.

Stillman had been in a non-contact jersey since he first got to Raleigh and that continued for over a month as he continued to practice with the team up until now when it seems like he was finally medically cleared to play.

The Canes signed Stillman to a $775,000 one-year, two-way contract over the summer.

The son of former Hurricane Cory Stillman, Riley will join a 3-5-1 Wolves team that has really struggled to find a consistent game.

In addition, Ty Smith was also returned to the AHL after joining Carolina in Vegas as a healthy extra.
