Riley Heidt On Pace To Set Another Prince George Cougars Franchise Record
Riley Heidt has had a dream start to the 2024-25 season. Since returning from Minnesota Wild Training Camp, the 2023 second-round pick has been named captain of the Prince George Cougars and recorded 14 points in his first eight games. On pace for another 100+ point season, Heidt could find himself setting yet another franchise record by the end of the season.

Heidt is currently the Cougars franchise leader in assists and points but could add his name to the top of the goals list by the end of the 2024-25 campaign. Currently sitting at 90 for his career, he is 30 away from tying Chase Witala, who has the franchise record with 120. With Hedit on pace to surpass the 35-goal mark this season, it is very possible he could hold all three records by the time he leaves the WHL.
The quest to become the franchise's all-time goal scorer will not be easy, as Heidt has some challenges ahead. He is going to miss some games if he gets selected to Team Canada's World Juniors team, and he also needs to compete with teammate Koehn Ziemmer, who is currently at 94 career WHL goals. That being said, Hedit has the skill that betting against him is a bad idea at this point.
Tonight, Riley Heidt has:

Regardless of whether he gets the third record or not, Heidt will go down as one of, if not the greatest player in Prince George's history. His jersey is bound for the rafters, as it is only a matter of time before he becomes the first player in franchise history to surpass 300 points. Cougars fans should enjoy him now, as Hedit looks destined for great things at the pro level.
