Ric Flair coming to Hamilton for Tiger-Cats playoff game

With the CFL playoffs just around the corner, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have enlisted a bit of star power to get fans excited for the big game.

Wrestling legend Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair says he will be in The Hammer to take in the Ticats home playoff game against the B.C. Lions on November 11.

And he won’t be coming alone, as the former WWE star revealed he’s bringing a special guest in a video shared on the team’s official Twitter account.

Flair will be going to the game with his buddy Angelo “King Kong” Mosca — “Big Nasty, we used to call him” — a CFL veteran who played 12 seasons with the Tiger-Cats beginning in 1958.

Flair and Mosca were former wrestling partners and the two are no strangers to the streets of southern Ontario. Here’s a promo video from back in the day featuring Mosca, aka The Mighty Hercules, hyping up an event with Flair in Kitchener.

But when it came to cutting promos, there was no one greater than Flair.

His boisterous antics in front of the camera often included listing the “bright lights” and the “big cities” that love The Nature Boy, and while Hamilton doesn’t exactly jump to mind, Flair has love for the steel town.

“Good lord I’ve had fun in Hamilton,” he says in the Ticats’ video.

With all do respect to Hamilton, I don’t think Flair has met a city that he couldn’t have fun in, but we’d sure love to hear some more about these good times in The Hammer.
