Revealed: Zalewski turned down Roma’s renewal offer before being frozen out
Nicola Zalewski’s time at Roma is ending in the worst way possible.
The Polish winger was reportedly very close to Galatasaray in recent days.
Roma had even agreed to a transfer fee with the Turkish club but the player remained firm in his position.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma appear particularly angry at the player.
Upon his return from international duty, the Giallorossi met with Zalewski and offered him a contract renewal given that his current deal is set to expire in a few months from now and the club preferred avoiding losing him in free agency.
This proposal, however, was also rejected.
Once the player turned down Galatasaray’s final offer, Roma decided to exclude Zalewski from all first team activities until further notice.
