Revealed – Why Italy Star Subbed Off In Inter Milan 3-1 Parma Serie A Clash
Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni was taken off as a precaution against Parma due to a twinge in his thigh.
This according to Italian outlet FCInter1908. They report that the Italian international felt a bit of tightness in his right thigh flexor, and that was the reason for his substitution.
Bastoni was in the Inter starting eleven against Parma this evening. He took up his usual position on the left of the back three.
Bastoni played out the majority of the match.
However, in the 74th minute, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi took the 25-year-old off. Tajon Buchanan replaced him, with the team switching around in formation a bit.
Alessandro Bastoni Withdrawn As A Precaution Vs Parma
According to FCIN1908, the reason for Bastoni’s withdrawal was not tactical. Nor was it purely to give the Italian international a rest.
FCIN1908 report that Bastoni had felt a bit of a pull in his right thigh flexor.
Therefore, Inter coach Inzaghi decided to substitute the 25-year-old off.
However, there is no serious injury for Bastoni, reports FCIN1908.
The substitution was purely a precaution.
Inter have several more important matches on the way, including against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and Lazio in Serie A.
And Inzaghi hardly wants to see Bastoni picking up any injuries at this busy period in the season.
