Daniele De Rossi is no longer the manager of Roma but the reason behind this sudden decision is still unsolved.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, much has to do with the rising tension between De Rossi and Roma CEO Lina Souloukou.

The news portal claims it all exploded yesterday, when another clash took place between Souloukou and the now former Roma coach.

Relations had been tense for a long time, also due to a rollercoaster market, but also due to the results that were not on De Rossi’s side, with only one victory in the last eleven games.

On the one hand there was the alibi of a team that had changed a lot in the last month of the transfer window and therefore needed time to build, on the other the rush to start winning.

Since Sunday evening it seemed like open war.

Yesterday afternoon was decisive, with the Friedkins siding with Souloukou. She is the one who made almost all the decisions on the market, with Ghisolfi being a point of reference especially in the operational, rather than management, part.

The situation between De Rossi and the Greek executive was reportedly impossible to mend and therefore there was a need to take a definitive position.

Within the Giallorossi club there is however astonishment at the choice to sack a coach who has just signed for three years.
