Revealed – Referee For Bayer Leverkusen Vs Inter Milan Champions League Showdown
Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic will be in charge of Tuesday’s Champions League match between Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan.
FIFA has confirmed the all-Slovenian refereeing crew for the match, via FCInterNews. Alen Borosak will be on VAR duty.
This week, Inter return to action in the Champions League.
And it will be a tough assignment for the Nerazzurri. They take on reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Inter faced German opposition the last time as well. They secured a fairly convincing 1-0 win over RB Leipzig.
But Leverkusen could be an even tougher test, particularly away from home.
So far, Inter have yet to taste defeat in the Champions League. They have also not conceded in any of their five matches to date.
The Nerazzurri drew with Manchester City in their opener. Wins over Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys, Arsenal, and Leipzig followed.
That form has left Inter second only to Liverpool in the “league phase” table.
Therefore, Inter are in a strong position to qualify directly for the round of sixteen.
Slavko Vincic To Referee Bayer Leverkusen Vs Inter UCL Clash – Borosak On VAR
The referee for Tuesday’s match against Leverkusen will be experienced Slovenian Slavko Vincic.
Assisting Vincic in his duties will be his countrymen Andraz Kovacic and Tomaz Klancnik.
The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Matej Jug.
In the VAR booth, Alen Borosak will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.
Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
