Revealed – Potential February Date For Fiorentina Vs Inter Milan Serie A Makeup Match

Fiorentina and Inter Milan could play the makeup match for their postponed December match on Thursday, December 6th.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

In the coming weeks, Fiorentina and Inter will play at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The two sides had kicked off a Serie A match in Florence at the start of December. However, that match was temporarily abandoned due to a shock medical emergency.

Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove had collapsed on the pitch around fifteen minutes in.

Neither set of players felt in any condition to play after the emotional scenes. Therefore, the players and club staff agreed to postpone the fixture.

The trouble with this postponement, however, is finding a date for the two sides to play.

Fiorentina and Inter both have packed fixture lists, as both teams are in European competitions.

For La Viola, there is no Coppa Italia quarterfinal match in February, as they went out to Empoli in the last round.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have dodged a playoff round for the Champions League round of sixteen by securing knockout qualification directly with a win over Monaco yesterday.

Still, finding a free date that accommodates both teams’ schedules has been no mean feat.

However, reports the Gazzetta, the date of February 6th is looking increasingly likely.

The Lega Serie A has not confirmed this date for the fixture, yet, reports the Gazzetta. However, it has emerged as a date in which both teams could squeeze the match in.

One quirk of that date is that the two teams face off in Serie A just a few days later. Inter Milan host Fiorentina at the San Siro on Sunday, February 9th.
