Repubblica: One down, one to go – Milan must finalise negotiations with Monaco

Following France’s elimination from the European Championship, AC Milan have a clear route to Youssouf Fofana, and there is only one agreement left to be made before he becomes a Rossoneri player.

Due to the Euros, the mercato has not yet kicked off properly, but with only two teams remaining in the tournament, it is expected that transfers will begin to start occurring shortly.

Two players are firmly in the works to arrive at the club, with both deals seemingly being at an advanced stage, those being Emerson Royal and Fofana, and both have given the green light to a move.

However, for both players, the stalling point is the financials with their respective clubs. Looking at the Frenchman specifically, Milan have an agreement in place with the midfielder himself, but there is still work to be done with AS Monaco, according to a report from La Repubblica (via Milan News).

Reports from this week have suggested that a fee had been agreed in the region of €22 million, but with his contract expiring next summer, and the Rossoneri happy to wait until next summer for his arrival if needed, it could push the club to attempt to lower his price further.
