Reports: Abraham to be called up vs. Lazio – the shirt number he has chosen

Paulo Fonseca will be able to count on Tammy Abraham immediately as the striker should be called up for AC Milan’s away game against Lazio tomorrow, a report claims.

Abraham underwent a medical earlier today ahead of joining Milan on what will be a season-long loan deal, with Alexis Saelemaekers going the opposite direction but under the same formula.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri still have time to register the 26-year-old for tomorrow’s game at the Stadio Olimpico, thanks to the derogation from the regulation requested by the Serie A clubs and accepted by the FIGC.

The Federal Council decided to allow clubs to file any changes to the list of 25 players with the following new terms:

– Until 00:00 on 29 August 2024 for clubs that will play matches on 30 August 2024.

– Until 10:00 on 31 August 2024 for clubs that will play matches on 31 August 2024.

– Until 00:00 on 31 August for clubs that will play matches on 1 September 2024.

Lazio-Milan will be played on Saturday 31 August 2024 at 20:45, therefore Milan have until 10:00 tomorrow morning to include the Englishman in their squad list.

According to MilanNews, Abraham has chosen No.90, a first for him. Since the 2019-20 season, he has always worn the the No.9, which however at Milan belongs to Luka Jovic.

We have to go back to his time at Aston Villa in the 2018-19 season to find a different shirt number: 18. In the past, Abraham has also used the 19 and 42 at Chelsea and the 10 at Swansea.
