Reported €15m fee for Barcelona starlet wide of the mark, suitors can only afford to pay €5m
Mikayil Faye has been a top of significant speculation over the last couple of weeks, amid reports that Porto are closing in on a deal to sign him this summer. However, doubts have emerged on this one recently, with Barcelona and the Portuguese seemingly having not met to discuss an arrangement.

These doubts have only been added to by MD, who say that Porto cannot afford to pay the €15m fee that has been reported in the media. If a deal were to take place, it would be for a significantly reduced price, possibly in the region of €5m.
Porto are currently struggling with financial problems of their own, which is the reason that they cannot afford to pay €15m. Should this be confirmed, it would surely end any chances of a deal being done, as Barcelona will almost certainly not accept such a low fee.
For now, Barcelona’s plan with Faye is clear. He is to be included in the first team for pre-season, where he will be given the chance to impress new manager Hansi Flick. Right now, the chances of him leaving imminently are rather slim.
