Report – Roma Refuse To Pay €45m For Inter Milan Star Amid Interest From English & French Clubs

Roma are reportedly reluctant to match Inter Milan’s €45 million asking price for wantaway midfielder Davide Frattesi.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, several clubs from France and England are keeping close tabs on the situation.

Frattesi has grown tired of playing second fiddle to Nicolo Barella.

Therefore, he recently requested to leave the San Siro after only making four starts in Serie A this season.

Meanwhile, head coach Simone Inzaghi is unwilling to give up the 25-year-old’s services midway through the campaign.

However, unfazed by Inter’s plans for Frattesi, Roma still hope to lure their academy graduate back to the capital this winter.

Despite harboring a genuine interest in the ex-Sassuolo midfielder, Roma won’t break the bank to get Inter’s go-ahead.

Indeed, they consider the Nerazzurri’s asking price excessive.

Roma would reportedly offer up to €30m, relying on the player’s desire to return to the Stadio Olimpico.

However, foreign clubs could spoil their plans.

Several unnamed English and French clubs are reportedly in the mix, with Inter preferring to sell Frattesi abroad.

In addition to Roma, Tottenham Hotspur held interest in the Nerazzurri misfit earlier this month.

But that hypothesis has recently faded.
