Bennett, who most recently served as the head coach of the ECHL's Savannah Ghost Pirates, was relieved from his position in February.
A native of Springfield, Mass., Bennett has had a long coaching career that is approaching almost three decades.
Starting out as a player/assistant coach in 1995-96 with the Jacksonville Lizard Kings (ECHL), Bennett served in that role for two seasons before moving onto the same role with the Pee Dee Pride (ECHL).
After retiring from the game at the end of the 1998-99 season, Bennett joined Providence College in 2000 as an assistant coach. Serving five years in that role, Bennett would then go onto the join Union College in 2005.
Over the next 17 seasons, Bennett would serve as an assistant coach, associate head coach and head coach of the program. He would go on to cement himself as the winningest coach in the Union men's hockey history.
As Bennett gets back into the coaching game, he will be a welcomed addition to the Bobcats. His experience will help make Quinnipiac's player development even better.
